The slaughter of Azcuénaga Street. Tucumán, 1976

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to analyze an event happened in Tucumán on May 20th 1976, that the military called the “Street Fighter Azcuénaga” where they “killed” five Montoneros guerrillas. While these were presented as “subversive criminals”, the military knew that this action was directed against the provincial secretariat of Montoneros, concluding violently with the actions of the group in the northern province of Argentina.
