Abstract

This paper presents the findings of an investigation aimed at describing aspects of the process of online journals subscription in Argentina. From April to September of 2007 a survey was conducted via electronic mail to special and academic libraries to inquire about Argentine actors involved in the identification, evaluation, and selection of titles, in the negotiation and signing of the licences, the subscription methods, and  type of resources subscribed for those information units. There was a high participation of librarians in the process that decreased in the stage of negotiating and signing the licencing agreements where institutional managers and administrators had a more prominent role.
