Keywords:
agriculture, concentration, Argentina, United States, comparisonAbstract
This article compares the evolution of farm size and the acreage they occupied in U.S.’ Corn Belt and the Agricultural Zone of the Argentine Pampas. The first part devotes to the contrast between both regions in the late thirties. Then, there is an analysis of their evolution during the following fifty years. Along with census data, technical reports of the Agricultural Experiment Stations of both regions were used. Finally, some hypotheses dealing with the factors that could have influenced in the concentration process were introduced.
