Abstract

From the moment he met him personally, in March 1922, and long beyond his death in 1938, Borges maintained an incessant relationship with the figure and work of Leopoldo Lugones. This text proposes a rereading of El hacedor, sixty years after its first edition, pointing out the different ways and different perspectives that Borges elaborates in that book to account for that complex relationship.
