Platonismo, não-realismo e nominalismo na primeira metade do séc. XII

Resumen

Sendo Abelardo dos mais estudados autores do século XII, o debate mantém-se hoje ainda aceso quanto ao entendimento da sua posição na disputa que, no século XII, opôs vocales ou nominales a reales, e, em particular, do seu “nominalismo”. Por outro lado, a investigação tem privilegiado a questão dos universais como questão central na caracterização do nominalismo de Abelardo, e até mesmo do nominalismo do séc. XII. Partindo da doutrina sobre os universais exposta nas Glosas a Porfírio da sua Logica ingredientibus, propomos aqui uma reapreciação das principais orientações historiográficas relativas a alguns dos elementos platónicos mais relevantes nestas páginas, bem como das suas implicações para o nosso entendimento da emergência e caracterização do chamado primeiro nominalismo medieval, nomeadamente no que diz respeito à fundamentação do raciocínio e do conhecimento.
