Abstract

The overall goal of our research is analyze the process of expansion of the agricultural frontier in the northwest Cordoba, Department of Cruz del Eje, to reconstruct the characteristics of small peasants units: the importance in the agrarian structure of the region, practices that allow them to be reproduced economically and socially and that domestic units become viable, and more specifically, its various articulation strategies and market participation; taking also into account the relationship of these peasant units with both provincial and national government policies.
In this paper we propose to describe in detail the current state (year 2014) of access to the resources of rural communities in Cruz del Eje and identify the demographic strategies of settlements of families in historical perspective concluding with an analysis of the patterns (modalities) of production of the peasant sector in the region.
