Abstract

This article posits gestures as aesthetic/ethical acts that disrupt behavioral expectations. The article engages with Bertolt Brecht's notions of "social gestus" and Mikhail Bakhtin's "ethical act." Through situated cases, this text seeks to consider the aesthetic/ethical framework of gestures that emerge in contexts of violence, as well as in artistic settings, always emphasizing their ethical dimension.
