Abstract

This paper aims to question the generalized idea that women have only been victims or, when worst, consenting witnesses, passive accomplices of the violence of Argentina's last military dictatorship. According to the author, culture in general and theatre in particular reproduce this idea when omitting female active participation in these repressive practices. To study this, the author focuses her analysis on three plays written by Eduardo Pavlovsky: "El señor Galíndez", "Tercero incluido" and "Potestad".
