Abstract

This article examines the ways violence was represented in the press in 1975 in Córdoba, Argentina, with a specific focus on the murder of the Pujadas family and its portrayal in the media of the time. The article argues that a 'regime of visibility' emerged in Córdoba through repressive practices that were both made visible and spectacularized at the provincial level. In addition, this process contributed to the formation of specific identities and moralities. This regime relied on repressive practices characterized by exposures of violence, evident in the treatment of victims' bodies and amplified through media coverage.
