Abstract

Ponta Grossa dos Fidalgos is a small fishing village located on the north shore of Lagoa Feia, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. This article aims to present how the people from this village organize their daily activities from crossing three calendars fishing. A careful reflection shows conflicts about the seasonal regulations of fishing activities and how fishermen and public officials are positioned on them.
