Sedentary vendors, musicians, vagoneros (vendors inside trains), feminist collectives and passengers are part of the dense network of actors who coexist and dispute their presence in the Mexico City Metro. Among such vicissitudes, the objective of this article is to examine the role that mobile work by Deaf vagoneros plays in the construction of a place in the Metro, an essentially hearing space. The text reflects results of a broader ethnographic research and aims to open a point of dialogue between Deaf studies, mobility studies and studies on itinerant work.
