Building territorialities: residential strategies and daily practices of bolivian women in Comodoro Rivadavia

Abstract

Territoriality occupies a growing place in the analysis of international migrations, both at the level of relations between material, social, cultural and political spaces, and at the level of practices. We start from the idea that urban territories are marked by power relationships. Hence, the ability to build places is a product of the strategies of the social actors that inhabit them and presents differences in gender, class and ethnicity. The focus of this work is on the Bolivian´s women living in Comodoro Rivadavia, their strategies and practices and the new territorialities they build. It seeks to recover the relationships and interactions of the migrants, the purpose and meanings, the daily mobility, accessibilities and reclusions that occur in daily life, inside the neighborhoods of residence and outside them. The approach is based on a qualitative research strategy, based on observations in the field, interviews with key informants and, in particular, interviews with a high depth of analysis.
